Jesus’ passion for baseball started when he was very young rooting for the Chicago Cubs and playing little league at Humboldt Park. He played baseball at Lane Tech High School and as a Sophomore he was an integral part of the 1996 City Championship Team. He was named to “Mayor Daley’s All-city team” which competed against All-star teams from around the nation. As a senior he was on Baseball America’s top 100 prospects list. He went on to play baseball at Triton College and was part of a team that qualified for the 2000 JUCO World Series.
As a father of 4, he has coached numerous baseball and softball teams. He started his coaching career at Dunham Park Girls Softball house league. Since 2015, he has coached at all 3 levels of the girls softball league, collecting 7 Championships along the way. In 2019 he was chosen to coach the 10U All-Star travel team which went undefeated in their inaugural season. He spent one year as an assistant Varsity coach at Trinity High School in River Forest and one year as the Varsity coach at Westinghouse High School in Chicago, where he led the Warriors to a conference championship. More recently, he was the head coach of Lane High School’s JV softball team who won the city championship in 2025. He has also assisted with the DBBO Bulls travel baseball program since 2021. Jesus currently coaches the14U Dunham Dragons travel team and remains the head coach for Lane’s JV softball team. He also serves as the Travel Director for the DPGSA Travel program.
Jason Pagan served as a baseball player beginning his playing career at the age of 10 at Alexander Von Humbodlt Park youth leagues located on the city of Chicago’s westside. He continued to play at many Chicago parks on the northwest side earning multiple invitations to play on traveling all star baseball teams requiring numerous out of state tournaments. He continued his playing career at Steinmetz Academic Center where he enjoyed 2 years of baseball both at the varsity level. After completing High School he attended College Where he played 2 years of college basketball before getting married and beginning his family. He is now married with two daughters who are both developing players under his guidance in both softball and volleyball.
Jason currently serves the community as a coach for the girls youth softball team at Dunham Park. Jason has been able to raise the playing levels of many of the children he has coached, providing quality insight and direction along the process. Jason now has a role with the Dunham Park Travel softball program as player developer and has seen many of his players continue to grow into quality players and young adults.
The Cage Chicago was established to provide a facility that enabled year round training opportunities for softball and baseball athletes of all ages and abilities. It is our mission at The Cage Chicago to develop the skills, discipline and strong character necessary for our players to reach their highest level of personal growth and achievement while emphasizing a strong commitment to self improvement and the community. Our family of players, parents, and coaches all work towards the goal of developing our young athletes ideals of good sportsmanship, loyalty, courage, and a strong sense of teamwork, providing direction in reaching their full potential in all aspects of their lives. The Cage, Chicago will provide high quality instruction and customer service to build relationships with all who enter! Here at The Cage Chicago, we believe that practice makes permanent.
